The Peugeot Vivacity was introduced in 1998. First generations of the Vivacity were available with the same vertical 2-stroke 50cc and 100cc engine as used in Peugeot's Speedfight 1 and 2 although the Vivacity was only available in air-cooled versions. LIQUID-COOLED TWO-STROKE ENGINE
OPERATIONS REQUIRING ENGINE REMOVALTo access the crankshaft and connecting rod and its bearings, the engine must be removed from the frame and the crankcase halves must be separated.
MAJOR ENGINE REPAIR | GENERAL NOTE
- It is not always easy to determine when or if an engine should be completely overhauled, as a number of factors must be considered.
- High mileage is not necessarily an indication that an overhaul is needed, while low mileage, on the other hand, does not preclude the need for an overhaul. Frequency of servicing is probably the single most important consideration. An engine that has regular and frequent maintenance will most likely give many miles of reliable service.

- SPEEDFIGHT AND TREKKER MODELS
- On Speedfight and Trekker models, undo the screw retaining the panel and lift the panel off (see illustrations). Note how the top edge of the panel locates under the rim of the opening.
- Installation is the reverse of removal.
VIVACITY MODELS
- On Vivacity models, undo the lower fixing screw, then raise the seat to access the two fixing screws on the top edge of the panel (see illustration).
- Undo the top screws and lift the panel off the machine (see illustration).
- Installation is the reverse of removal. Note that the two top screws also retain the front edge of the seat cowling (see illustration).
