Look, Dead or Alive Xtreme 2 has a story, but it is freaking weird, and really who cares about the story in a game like this? The basics of it are that Zack has somehow resurrected his island and it has been rechristened New Zack Island. All of the Dead or Alive babes are here and having the time of their lives. Well, actually, each girl has her own reason for coming to the island and this does make you want to experience each one.

The graphics on offer here are just pure eye candy. Even before the Xtreme series, Dead or Alive even on the original PlayStation was known for its graphics and at the time of release, this was the best-looking game to have the Dead or Alive name. The previous game was on the Xbox, but with Dead or Alive Xtreme 2, it was on the Xbox 360 so they had a lot more horsepower that they could use.
As a result, the girls look smoother, bouncier, and more real than ever before. These are some of the sexiest ladies you will ever see in a game. What is really cool, is that while they are hot, the girls also have a lot of personality. New Zack Island has a lot going on too so there is a fair bit of variety to the locations of the game.
Beach Bum
While the volleyball is once again back and you need to pick your girl and a partner. There are many other games you can partake in here. The actual volleyball is better than it was in the last game. It is still rather simple, but the gameplay is more challenging this time around which makes it more interesting. You can take part in other games such as pool hopping, beach flags, tug of war, water slide, and butt battle! Getting to know each girl by making friends with them is a key part of the game. You get to learn what each girl likes and does not like and the more you appease them the more likely they are to be your friend. There is actually a lot to the gameplay here and it is very easy for a short gameplay session to last a few hours.
I think that Dead or Alive Xtreme 2 is a far better game than people give it credit for. It is the kind of game where it would be so easy to look at the game and say it is nothing more than a game for people to get off to because of the big boobs. I feel that is very harsh as the game is fun to play. The volleyball is well done and more strategic than people think and the mini-games, while simple are a lot of fun.

Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 follows on from where the second game left off. This time they had the power of the PlayStation 4 and the PlayStation Vita to mess around with. It is worth noting that the PC and the Nintendo Switch would also get a port. If you liked the other games in the Xtreme series then I do feel that this one is worth playing, even if it does not have as much meat on the bone.
Whose Island?
The game is once again set on an island paradise, but this time players can create their own island. There is very little story here, each girl does have her own “motivations” however, not as much time or effort was spend on that here as it was in Dead or Alive Xtreme 2. That is not to say that Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 is a bad game or any tying, it just feels a bit more rushed in this regard.
The Beach, The Babes, The Boobs!
It goes without saying that this is an absolutely stunning game. I do not feel that the leap is as big from 2 to 3 as it was 1 to 2. However, this is a game that could not be any easier on the eyes. If you have played any Dead or Alive game before and had a thing for some of the characters, you are in for a real treat here. Especially with the amount of control that the game gives you over the camera. Each girl can wear many different outfits and you can unlock outfits for other girls, but without going on a massive grind which is something I liked. The different locations also look great and being able to make your own island does allow you to put your own spin on things.
More Of The Same
I loved the second game and thought it really did improve on what the first game started. With Dead or Alive Xtreme 3, I do feel that they rested on their laurels here and felt people would play the game just for the boobs. This game does once again have the volleyball aspect that we all know and love. The last game tightened things up and made it more skill-based and it is pretty much the same on offer here.You also have the same mini-games as before such as beach flag and butt battle. They just do not offer enough new here in terms of the actual gameplay to make you get really excited. Do not get me wrong, what is on offer here is great stuff and there is plenty of interaction you can do with the girls. However, I would have liked a whole host of new mini-games as this was made for a new generation of console.
I know that this may have sounded like a negative review, but I did actually enjoy my time with Dead or Alive Xtreme 3. It does what it does very, very well. The graphics are certainly an improvement over what the second game offered due to the power of the hardware it was made for. I just wish that they added in some more new content as it fees like the second game, but with better graphics.
