Pixelmon Underwater Temple

NOTICE: If you’re not using the Technic Launcher, update to Forge 2847! Release Date: June 3rd
Hey everyone! It’s been a while… We’ve been busy! As of this release, we’re now returning to our regular release schedule. A few things to note with this release, we’ve decided to pull a few features from the release so we could get this out in time. As such, our next update will be another rather large update shortly after this, including many more, if not all, Pokemon from Gen 8. Thanks for being patient and we hope you enjoy everything this update has to offer.
Our inspiration for this update came from the lack of symmetry Pixelmon has with Minecraft. For years, Pixelmon has more so replaced Minecraft and cut out many features. We wanted to fill that void a bit to create a better experience, and also fill the knowledge gap so new players can enjoy the game without constant google searches trying to figure out what does what. Enjoy and keep an eye out for another update very soon!

Spawning

  • Added full Biomes O Plenty Support
    • Modpack now includes Biomes O Plenty
  • Every single Pokemon has a new spawn location based on their biology, where they spawned in games, and their typing

NPC’s

Temple
  • Added a Transfer NPC Tutor to teach your Pokemon old moves from the past that were removed in previous games. Can be disabled if you want a truly authentic experience, although they are still technically legit obtainable moves, just extra steps
    • Transfer Moves can be obtained via the Transfer NPC Tutor. If you’re unsure what this means, here’s a basic example of how Transfer Moves work in the games:
    • We’ll use Gengar for an example. In Pokemon Sun & Moon, Gengar lost the ability to learn Icy Wind. In ORAS, Gengar could learn Icy Wind. You could teach Gengar Icy Wind in ORAS and transfer that Gengar to Sun & Moon via trade methods and have a unique Gengar with Icy Wind it normally can’t have in Sun & Moon
  • Added Ultra NPC
    • You can speak with this NPC to obtain a quest to obtain Poipole
  • NPC Tutors now contain 10 Moves each
  • Updated NPC Tutor Costs
    • NPC Tutors now cost between 1-3 Heart Scales which can be obtained from Luvdisc
    • This applied to Regular Tutors, Event Tutors, and the new Transfer Tutors
  • Added all 181 of our custom NPC Skins to the NPC Jsons so they will now show on the drop down menu of NPC Editors! No more hacky custom resource options to select and track them down
  • Added 7 new categories of Trainers that spawn
    • “Good”- IE Ash, Dawn, etc
    • “Evil”- IE Team Rocket, Team Aqua, etc
    • “GymLeaders”- IE Brock, Misty, etc
    • “Hex”- IE all the Hex Maniacs
    • “MiscJobs”- IE Doctor, Engineer, etc
    • “Ranger”- IE from the Ranger series
    • “Costume”- IE Mimikyu Fan, Sableye Fan, etc
  • Updated TR and TM drops in Gyms
  • Added a bunch of new Trades for NPC’s
    • Pokemon that can only evolve via trade can be obtained from these in Singleplayer, completing the Dex in Singleplayer is now possible (pokemon that evolve via trade also spawn normally now, although extremely rare for another means of obtaining)
  • Changed spawn locations for various NPC’s with Biomes O Plenty support
  • The Doctor NPC now uses Nurse Joy’s NPC Skin! Finally!
  • Added spawns.json for more fine tuning of NPC Spawns

    • If the Totem Pokemon is a signature Totem Pokemon, one with a dedicated Z-Crystal, such as Eevee there is a 100% Species Drop chance
      • In this case, Eevee’s pool is Eevium-Z and M Candy, you’ll receive one of those at random.
      • Additionally, you’ll have a 50% chance to receive a Type Based drop.
    • Type Based Drops are based on the Primary Type of the Pokemon

Server Owners

  • It is recommended to reset with a fresh map to take advantage of all the new features, however a reset is not required. TMs 100-177 and HMs will be removed from your world however and it will prompt you to make a backup first on first boot, you can confirm with /fml confirm in console
  • If you have external jsons enabled, you should regenerate the entire structures folder, the entire spawning folder, the entire NPC’s folder, the entire drops folder, breeding conditions, and the BetterSpawnerConfig.json located in /config/pixelmon
  • While yes, you can edit Pokemon and Moves via jsons now, it’s recommended to keep them disabled if you do not plan to make edits. When we modify moves or Pokemon to fix bugs, you will need to manually check and apply changes on each update with external Pokemon and Move jsons enabled
  • All public sidemods have been ported and we’re working on adding them to the downloads page. They’re currently all posted in our Server Owners Discord which you can grab the invite link from pins in #servers on our discord
  • All servers currently in our Servers Owner Discord have obtained the BETA for 3.0 a month ago to prepare with however they’re planning to go about, so most servers should already be ready for 3.0 today
  • It’s safe to remove DIM5 (old ultra space world), as that has been completely removed and disconnected from code
  • For new Ultra Space, it’s recommended to disable Fire Spread with /gamerule doFireTick false, and to disable leaf-decay in Sponge global.conf
  • Update Forge to 2847 and Sponge to the latest recommended build

Player Installation

Pixelmon Underwater Temple
  • If you’re using the Minecraft Launcher and have edited any settings in the pixelmon.hocon setting, it’s recommended to delete the hocon to avoid any potential issues. Also, if you have any sidemods, make sure to either delete them or update them (such as OptiFine, PixelExtras, PokeRadar, etc). Also, update to Forge 2847.
  • If you wish to disable Biomes O Plenty from auto downloading from CurseForge, you can add “skipbop.txt” to your mods folder
  • If you’re using the Technic Launcher, no action should be needed as we’ll force an override of any necessary changes. Although if you have added any extra sidemods manually, you may need to update or remove them
